Spring Giveaway - Sidecar Sling

Laura is hosting a fabulous giveaway this week! A perfect excuse for me to host my first giveaway. Be sure to go enter some more great giveaways all week long, and post a link on your blog!

Babywearing is just wonderful, and I think every Mama of babies should own one sling, ringsling and a structured carrier - but that's just my opinion ;) My husband thinks we have a veritable "library" of carriers (two ring slings, a Beco Butterfly, two slings and a bit ago we had a wrap too) In my defense, I've bought all of these either used or on fabulous sales, or traded my knitting skills. See my post on babywearing if you're unfamiliar with the different types of carriers.

The sling I'm giving away is a Sidecar Sling (they recently closed shop to spend more time with their growing families) and I loved it while Graeme was about 6-16mos. I'm only parting with it because I have another sling (remember, our stash?) and I'd love to help someone who does not have one yet and would like to try one.

It is cotton on one side and a cute twill print on the other. There's a nice little zippered pocket to store keys or your debit card/drivers license so you can pop in and out of the store with your little one on your hip. Size is equivalent to a Hotsling 3 (see this chart). I am 5'5" and wear a med. size shirt...but this will fit a wide range of sizes. Even taller women may find they like a shorter pouch, as it keeps the baby closer to them.

You can find directions on how to use pouch slings here and here.

To enter:

1. Post a comment and tell me if you currently babywear, what you like, and what carrier(s) you have.

2. Follow me - become a follower for a second entry, or post a separate comment indicating that you already follow my blog.

3. Be sure to leave either a link to your blog, or a valid e-mail address so I can contact you if you win.

4. This is open to US or Canada addresses only.

P.S. I'll draw a random winner on Friday night :)

Amanda,
I've never used a sling before! I'm sure it would give me a lot of relief from back pain when I'm carrying my 7-month-old around. How cool that you are having a giveaway - I'd love to win the sling :)

I love wearing my babies. I am pregnant with another blessing, but my other pouch will be to small this time around...so I could use a new one. :-)

I used one sling with my second baby, but not for long. It doesn't really seem like it would work with her getting bigger--at least the style I have. I would love to try this one out!

Cool! I love baby wearing too. I normally use a backpack and have never tried a pouch, but I think Olivia would love something like that!

Ok, my computer is being screwy, sorry about the deleted post!

Anyways, I love baby carrying! I use a ring sling, and my mei tei mostly, but I love pouch slings! The few I made weren't holding my babies as snug as I liked, so I keep saying I need to make a new one. With 5 children, ages 6 and under, slig riding is a must, and finidng time to make them is not very often! This is a beautiful pouch! I would love to win it!

Oh, and I am totally following your blog!

Well, this isn't actually an entry because my John is such a big boy, I still carry him in my Baby Bjorn but he's too heavy otherwise! I never had a carrier at all with Chlow which was too bad because she was smaller too!

I hope to have a smaller baby for #3 :)

I currently use a ring sling every time I go out. Seriously, I don't take my son out without mine. This would be fun to try out.

I have wanted a sling so badly. It would make it so much easier to have two hands.

I am a babywearer!!

I started out with a Nojo sling on my third daughter, then got an OTSBH sling. I'm currently waiting to find the right person to give my purple OTSBH holder to because I have moved on.

I have a Maya Wrap sling I got from freecycle when my 6th child was a baby, but my friend made me her version of an unpadded ring sling when my 7th child was born last Fall, and I like it better than my Maya Wrap sling. She also gave me a Mei Tai that she made, which we use with the toddler and baby at times.

But just a few weeks ago, I was given a Moby Wrap from freecycle and I wish I'd had this when my 7 month old was a newborn. It's so secure and comfortable!

I've never tried a pouch sling, though, and I'd love a chance to try one!

That sling is beautiful! I currently have a maya wrap and really like it, but I've been looking into more of a sling like this one or something similar. Thanks!

Hey Amanda. I am a babywearer although my little (ok not so little she's 20 pounds at 10 months old...pure breastmilk) is kind of picky about her carrier. I have a ring sling which she tolerates, a sleepy wrap she hates, and an Ergo which she likes on the hip. I would love another sling to try. My sister in law is pregnant with her 3rd child and I am loaning my other carriers out to her. : )

I am expecting right now, so I don't babywear at this time. I did with my second child a little. I have a New Native, but I was only able to wear that with her for about four months.

Sarah said...

Well I am not currently a baby wearer but I'd like to be! I am expecting #2 Due in August and I am really wanting a sling and give this baby wearing a shot!! I think babies spend way too much time in car seats :)

Loved my Moby when baby was little and my ring sling is falling apart after 2 years with first baby and almost a year with the second! :)
