New granola recipe

We had a Mommies Morning Out seminar this morning at church on "Meal Planning" - not one of my fortes, especially lately! (Come to think of it, I'm not quite sure what I would say my "forte" in home-making is - I don't think I've got one yet LOL! Reading books? I think we probably read 20-30 books today!) So I was inspired to improve both my and Graeme's eating habits.

First up: trying a new granola bar recipe. I want something on hand that has a good bit of protein and energy, plus something that will meet my sweet tooth and leave me feeling satisfied.

I thought this recipe looked good to me, from The Meal Makeover Moms' Blog. I'll review it tomorrow after we eat it :-)

Your "forte" is always making your family your priority! You treat spending special time with your son as more important than making sure everything is 24hr spotless. You encourage and love your husband in every way possible.
I will always admire that about you and wish that I could have that ability one day. ; )

Nothing in this world is more important than the Lord and your family!

Okay, so I didn't like this particular recipe, but I think the reason is the strong taste of honey - I don't care for it that much. Perhaps I could try 1/2 brown sugar and 1/2 honey next time. It may have been the particular honey I used, too...besides that, the recipe was easy, healthy, and Graeme loved it. I started wondering if he was allergic to pecans, though. It's hard to say b/c he's been struggling with allergies this week anyways, but it kinda seemed like his eyes got watery and red after he ate this. Pecans is the only thing in it that he hasn't eaten before (I had to use pecans b/c that's all I had - it calls for walnuts)

So, in summary, I'd try it again, using 1/2 the honey and 1/2 brown sugar and walnuts this time.
